Since establishing our own Brewery & Taproom in central Brighton in 2019, UnBarred Brewery has built a fiercely loyal following, whilst quadrupling production and becoming one of the South East’s most respected independent craft breweries. With an inclusive, close-knit culture, we’re ambitious and are scaling up with a much larger dedicated production brewery.
You’ll take ownership of our Sussex on-trade territory — understanding what it takes to succeed in sales, nurturing strong relationships while driving new listings and increasing rate of sale across the region. This isn’t a maintenance role. It’s a growth role.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Sales you’ll work predominantly independently, spending 3–4 days per week in the field visiting accounts and prospecting new venues. Mondays will be based at our new Worthing production brewery.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Representing the UnBarred brand with confidence, energy and authenticity
- Growing distribution across independent pubs, bars and quality-led venues
- Securing new listings and building long-term partnerships
- Working closely with wholesalers to drive volume
- Supporting accounts with staff training, events and activations
- Managing your own pipeline and delivering against agreed KPIs
- Working collaboratively with our London based Sales Executive
This role requires someone commercially sharp, organised, and comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team whilst managing a territory with real ownership.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate will genuinely understand independent craft beer culture — as well as margins, rate of sale and commercial realities. This role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the drinks industry (beer, wine, spirits or wider hospitality sales).
You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven on-trade sales experience within the drinks industry (minimum 2 years essential)
- A strong understanding of the independent on-trade landscape
- Demonstrable experience of hitting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confident negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- A proactive, self-starting mindset
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (fuel allowance provided)
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6–12 months you’ll have:
- Increased volume and distribution across Sussex
- Strengthened relationships with key venues and wholesalers
- Improved rate of sale in core accounts
- Established yourself as a visible and trusted presence in the local on-trade
- Consistently hit (or exceeded) agreed KPIs
