Purpose

Established in 1986, City in the Community is the registered charity of Manchester City and exists to empower healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

The purpose of this role is to provide safe and reliable transportation for CITC staff and participants travelling as part of our BTEC league. This role will be driving minibus vehicles up to 16-seat, to allow squads to travel to away fixtures as part of a set matchday programme.

Typically, assignments will be offered on a Wednesday, term-time from October to May.

Accountabilities

  • Safe transportation of CITC staff and participants across a set schedule and planned route to ensure away fixtures can be attended.
  • Efficient planning of timely routes to each fixture, considering traffic conditions and other relevant factors, to ensure the staff and players arrives in good time to complete their preparations for the game.
  • Effective communication with CITC staff if there are delays, planned route changes or any other concerns that may affect the day’s schedule.
  • Responsible for roadworthiness checks of the assigned vehicle and adherence to all safety protocol before, during and after travel, to ensure passenger safety is prioritised.
  • Efficient record keeping of all trips, mileage and passenger counts to ensure required documentation can be evidenced.
  • Ensuring that CITC’s Safeguarding policy and procedures are embedded to the highest standard. Work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework.
  • Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team, escalating any breaches as appropriate .

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Valid Driver’s License including D1 (PCV).
  • Excellent driving skills displaying best practise.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • High sense of responsibility and care, role-modelling behaviours for the group.
  • Being able to remain focused, paying good attention to detail.
  • Resilient and adaptable to change.
  • Mini-bus driving experience or Qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good physical fitness.
