The Role

The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Academy Director will provide the highest standards of administrative and operational support to Manchester City’s Academy Director and the Academy Management Team. This role will also ensure that all tasks are handled efficiently in their absence meaning discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes.

Your Impact

  • Provide a high level of administration and operational support to the Academy and contribute to the creation of a world-class high performance sport environment through your support to the Academy Director.
  • Provide support to the Academy Management Team (AMT).
  • Lead the delivery of key Academy events, such as Academy Leadership Summit, End of Season Awards, Scholar Signing Evening, all-staff meetings, AMT meetings and social events.
  • Coordinate a range of meetings and ensure actions are assigned and followed up accordingly.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships across Manchester City FC, especially with senior members of staff and their respective PAs.
  • Contribute to and support the achievement of the Academy Performance Plan.
  • Take responsibility for disseminating wider Academy information to all members of Academy staff.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience as a PA or in a high-level administrative capacity
  • Experience working in a high-performance sport environment
  • A verifiable record of working with a multi-disciplinary team of staff
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects, prioritise workload and balance conflicting demands to produce high quality work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to produce presentations and reports to a high standard
  • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to build strong rapport with strong attention to detail

Desirable

  • An understanding of young performers and the challenges of working with developing athletes
  • Previous experience of operational delivery of events
  • Knowledge of finance & HR systems such as Agresso/Business World and SAP
  • Experience of working in a global company or understanding of engaging with different cultures
  • Relevant degree in business administration or similar subject
