Based in Manchester, this part‑time role (18.75 hours per week) supports the delivery of high‑quality goalkeeping coaching across the Foundation and Youth Development Phases within the Manchester City Academy. You will play an important role in supporting the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of young goalkeepers while helping to create an engaging and development‑focused learning environment aligned to the Club’s long‑term player pathway.

Responsibilities

  • You will support the delivery of structured and age‑appropriate goalkeeping coaching sessions across the U9‑U14 age groups, helping to ensure young goalkeepers develop in line with the Club’s methodology and long‑term player development framework.
  • Working closely with Academy coaches, recruitment staff and multidisciplinary teams, you will help create a positive and challenging learning environment that supports progression across the Academy pathway.
  • Alongside coaching delivery, you will monitor and evaluate goalkeeper performance during training sessions, matchdays, festivals and tournament environments, supporting both individual player development and wider programme objectives.
  • You will also contribute to pre‑match preparation, post‑match review activity and goalkeeper‑specific development programmes.
  • You will also support talent identification activity and the continued development of the Academy goalkeeping programme, helping maintain high standards across planning, communication and player support.
  • Through your organisation, collaboration and development‑focused approach, you will contribute to creating a high‑quality learning environment for young goalkeepers.

Qualifications

  • UEFA B Licence or working towards it
  • UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence or working towards it
  • Experience coaching young goalkeepers within Foundation Phase environments
  • Ability to build positive relationships with players, parents and staff
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Collaborative and development‑focused approach within Academy environments
