Head of Matchday Operations - Manchester City Women FC

Location: Manchester, GB

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Contract Type: Permanent

Based at the City Football Academy in Manchester, this full-time permanent role leads the planning and delivery of Manchester City Women's matchday operations. It is a key position for someone who can bring together commercial, operational and supporter priorities to create a safe, efficient and memorable home matchday experience that supports repeat attendance, stronger engagement and continued growth.

Who We Are

Manchester City Women is a team driven by ambition, belief and a desire to keep pushing the game forward. Founded in 1988 and relaunched in 2014, we have grown into a consistent force in the women's game, competing at the highest level in the UK and Europe. Progress, performance and pride sit at the heart of everything we do. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are building what comes next, the City way.

Within Manchester City Women, the matchday operations team plays a vital role in shaping how supporters experience every home fixture. Working across the Club and with trusted service partners, the team helps make sure each matchday runs smoothly, feels welcoming and delivers the standards expected on and off the pitch.

The Role

This role sits at the centre of Manchester City Women's home matchday delivery, turning wider commercial and supporter objectives into a clear operational plan for every fixture. You will lead the end-to-end coordination of matchday activity, balancing safety, service, atmosphere and commercial performance so that supporters enjoy a seamless experience from arrival to departure.

You will oversee the practical delivery of key matchday functions, working with internal colleagues and external partners to keep plans aligned, service standards high and priorities clear. From food and beverage and retail performance to stewarding, cleaning, security, medical, facilities and broadcast support, you will make sure every part of the operation contributes to the same high-quality supporter experience.

The role also requires a confident, data-led approach to continuous improvement. You will use insight, reporting and post-match review to identify what is working well, where delivery can be improved and how to strengthen customer satisfaction, retention and revenue over time. Just as importantly, you will bring people together, influence across functions and provide steady operational leadership in a complex live environment.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience leading stadium, venue, event or live entertainment operations, ideally in elite sport or football.
  • Ability to turn commercial and operational objectives into practical plans for live event delivery.
  • Experience managing suppliers and service partners against agreed standards, budgets and KPIs.
  • Confidence using data and insight to improve supporter experience, operational performance and revenue.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to safe, compliant and efficient delivery.
