Community Coach – Schools

This Community Coach – Schools role is an opportunity to inspire children and young people across Greater Manchester through sport and education. Working closely with schools, teachers and colleagues, you will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions that help pupils develop confidence, improve their physical wellbeing and build skills for the future.

Who We Are

Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

Within our Schools team, we use sport and physical activity to create positive learning experiences for children and young people across Greater Manchester. Through our Primary Schools and Disability Schools programmes, we work closely with schools and teachers to deliver inclusive PE, support pupil development and help young people of all abilities build confidence and reach their potential.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality coaching and education sessions across City in the Community's Primary Schools and Disability Schools programmes, supporting pupils through National Curriculum PE, Premier League Primary Stars and inclusive physical activity.

Day to day, you will plan and deliver engaging, structured and inclusive sessions that support pupils' physical development, confidence and enjoyment of sport. Working closely with the Primary Schools Officer or Disability Schools Officer, you will help ensure programmes meet curriculum objectives and provide a safe, positive learning environment for all participants.

Alongside programme delivery, you will build strong relationships with teachers and school staff, monitor pupil progress and contribute to programme reporting. You will also play an important role in maintaining high safeguarding standards and ensuring CITC and CFG policies are embedded across all activities.

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum NGB Level 2 Coaching qualification in any sport (excluding dodgeball).
  • Experience delivering coaching or education sessions within schools, with knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with children and young people, delivering engaging and inclusive activities.
  • Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a creative and adaptable approach to delivery.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
