The Role

The Football Communications Executive will assist with the management of the Club’s external communications functions, particularly on football operations.

Your Impact

  • Assist in the management of all communications regarding football operations – match day media, press conferences and media appearances.
  • Support in facilitating media interviews in accordance with the Club’s commitments with broadcasters/governing bodies, and when appropriate you will promote the Club and service external media needs.
  • Be responsible for all media accreditation duties at the Club.
  • Facilitate filming and media requests at City Football Academy to include MCFC and MCWFC First Team, Elite Development Squad, Academy and commercial.
  • Attend MCWFC first team matches as well as some MCFC and Academy fixtures where required.
  • Provide support and briefings to players, coaches, and staff on Club activities.
  • Support on the announcement of player signings across the Club and wider City Football Group.
  • Build relationships with external media and filter media enquiries among the wider team.

What we are looking for

  • Communications related degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge and awareness of the UK sports media scene.
  • Communications experience – writing and producing collateral, working on communications campaigns, managing events and handling the media
  • Possess strong communication skills that are clear, engaging and appropriate, mindful of tone and always aligned to the Club’s brand guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, to create and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Highest level of integrity and discretion.
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
