The Vacancy
JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres as defined on the “Scope of Works Task Sheets” in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete the PPM schedule within agreed KPI timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to procedures.
Work flexibly within the cluster as required.
Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess job requirements, and carry out repairs as necessary.
Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
Order spares following laid-down procedures.
Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager with recommendations for replacement.
Make recommendations for suitable replacements for non-repairable plant and equipment.
Inform the GM and distribution line managers of any issues affecting depot operations.
Assist the Cluster Facilities Manager in managing and controlling depot third-party contractors and ensure service inspection paperwork is properly filed.
Conduct surveys and complete reports as required.
Carry out minor alterations and installations following current specifications, including testing and certification.
Perform general repairs and maintenance at designated sites, including building repairs.
Assist colleagues in other areas when requested.
Ensure tools and equipment are used properly, available, and maintained.
Liaise with project teams on site alterations and modernisations.
Maintain accurate timesheets.
Complete tasks in line with KPIs.
Attend training to keep skills current with technical developments.
Follow the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Work with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
Follow instructions from managers.
Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues.
Ensure costs are approved through proper channels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- C&G 2382 (18th edition)
- Level 3 core Electrical qualification (e.g., C&G2330, C&G 2365)
- Experience with electrical certification
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
- Relevant industry experience or time served in electrical discipline
