Reports To: Operation Director

Job Purpose: To act as the face of our business on the road, ensuring that our fresh sourced products are safely, accurately, and punctually delivered to our customers and wholesale partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliveries & Customer Service
    • Execute multi-drop deliveries (where applicable) to residential customers, local businesses or wholesale accounts.
    • Represent the company in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner at all times.
    • Review delivery orders with recipients to ensure complete accuracy.
    • Obtain signatures and names of receiver as required.
  • Loading & Route Management
    • Plan the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timeframes and schedules are met.
    • Assist where needed with securely loading the van to ensure goods remain in pristine condition during transit.
    • Ensure proper temperature control for chilled and frozen items during transit.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
    • Perform daily walk-around vehicle safety checks (e.g., tires, lights, fluid levels) and promptly report any mechanical faults.
    • Keep the delivery van impeccably clean and sanitized, both inside and out.
    • Adhere to all UK road traffic laws, speed limits, and parking regulations.
  • General Duties
    • Assist with unloading wholesale supplier deliveries if needed.
    • Follow all biosafety and hygiene protocols, adhere to UK Food safety law.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Licence: Full, clean UK Driving Licence (often required to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes).
  • Age: Minimum 18 years old.
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling (e.g., carrying crates of produce up to 25kg).
  • Local Knowledge: Good familiarity with the local area and surrounding regions.
  • Soft Skills: Punctual, reliable, excellent personal hygiene, fluent or native English speaker and possessing excellent interpersonal skills to handle customer queries on the doorstep.

Working Conditions:

  • Early morning starts are common to beat traffic and meet delivery schedules.
  • Involves working outdoors in all weather conditions during loading and unloading.

Package:

  • 28 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)
  • Daytime hours (6.30AM- 1.30PM) Monday to Saturday
  • Overtime paid where applicable
