  • To maintain and repair a range of electrical, mechanical plant and equipment in Asda stores including all building services as defined on the “Scope of Works” in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
  • To carry out management duties within your cluster, as detailed in the principal accountabilities
  • To provide on-site coaching to the In-store Technicians and other engineers within your team.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with the IST, and ASDA colleagues.
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the In-Store Technician for the nominated store within your cluster – as prescribed in the In-Store Technician job description.
  • To provide cover for In-Store Technicians at other stores.
  • To provide technical support to In-Store Technicians.
  • To ensure under performance on KPI’s is understood and action plans are in place to effect improvement.

Management

  • To support the Regional Support Manager on all technical, people and FM process issues.
  • To provide cover for Regional Support Managers during times of absence, holidays and meetings.
  • To carry out specified store programme both reviews on quality and Health & Safety and take action on non-compliances
  • To complete specified reports and take action on any issues raised
  • To audit FM documentation and take action on any non-compliances
  • To monitor the Facilities Log Book and take action to ensure correct completion of outstanding items.
  • To deal promptly with all Help Desk calls and ensure that the issues are resolved effectively, escalating where necessary to the appropriate management level in City and ASDA
  • To attend Store Project, Trial, Renewal and Remodel Meetings when appropriate, ensuring adequate support from others on specialist issues.
  • To ensure that IST’s attend Huddles on a weekly basis.
  • To regularly communicate with the Asda store team on all FM activity.
  • To complete and monitor all necessary reports on the performance of team members, and take action on unsatisfactory performance.
  • To be fully aware of the Company’s HR procedures and use them to deal with HR issues up to the specified level.
  • To participate in the recruitment and selection process of FM engineering colleagues
  • To assist the Regional Support Manager as requested.
  • To liaise with the Asda team on any key issues that impact on trade.

Coaching

  • To attend formal training courses, with the aim of delivering training on to others within your team.
  • To work with the Technical Training Team and Regional Support Managers to identify the training and coaching needs of new and existing engineers
  • To complete reports to the Head of Technical Training on coaching activities, training issues raised, training opportunities identified and recommendations for new approaches as part of continual improvement
  • To assist in the review of technical training content ensuring that it is accurate, up to date with technology and always relevant to the skill levels defined for the business
  • To deliver technical coaching solutions to the standards set by the training department, in particular ensuring a high degree of participation by trainees through active encouragement and support of learning
  • To follow the administration procedures of the training function to ensure that the correct facilities, equipment and materials are available for coaching sessions, and on completion all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and returned to HR admin support at Southport
  • To provide accurate feedback to the Head of Technical Training on skill and knowledge gaps identified during coaching sessions or cluster meetings and to recommend corrective action.
  • To comply with all health and safety legislation and processes.
  • To carry out other reasonable duties.

  • High degree of mobility – travelling throughout the area providing cover as and where necessary
  • Personal fitness – nature of the job requires the jobholder to climb ladders, working in confined spaces etc.
