Job Description

Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer\\nLocation: Reading\\nContract Type: Permanent\\nWorking Hours: 40 Hours Per Week\\nSalary: £46,791.53 (incl.13 standby payments)\\nThis role is for an experienced supermarket refrigeration engineer who wants clear earnings, a defined patch within a well-run contract.\\nYou’ll be working on a major UK supermarket estate, carrying out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across multiple stores. The work is structured, the expectations are clear, and the on-call rota is planned.\\nWhat you’ll be doing\\n * Planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across retail sites\\n * Working with CO₂ refrigeration pack systems\\n * Diagnosing faults and recommending repair or replacement where required\\n * Completing PPMs, reactive work and repairs during planned store visits\\n * Carrying out small alterations and installations within your competence\\nPay & working pattern…..the important bit!\\n * £46,791 per annum, basic salary (inclusive of 13 periods of standby)\\n * 40 hour working week, overtime payable for time over contracted hours\\n * Planned on-call rota 1 in 4 weeks (hours of work paid in addition to standby payment)\\nWhat we’re looking for:\\nEssential\\n * NVQ / SVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration (or equivalent)\\n * F-Gas Category 1 (C&G 2079-1)\\n * Full UK driving licence\\n * Minimum 3 years experience working on supermarket refrigeration systems\\nDesirable\\n * CO₂ refrigeration training / certification\\nWhat you get beyond pay:\\n * Managers who understand refrigeration not just KPI’s\\n * Company vehicle, specialist tools, PPE provided\\n * 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)\\n * Private healthcare\\n * Life insurance\\n * Pension\\n * Employee discounts and salary sacrifice options
