Working Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week (Monday – Friday)
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for supporting the Finance Managers in the smooth running of the team, by ensuring accurate financial reporting of all key Finance tasks (month end, group reporting, annual stats).
The position incorporates a combination of technical accounting, team leadership and senior stakeholder management across all departments and functions, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Finance Managers and Financial Controller to ensure all department targets are achieved.
- Oversee the Sales Ledger and Credit Control function.
- Co-ordinate staff development and deliver staff appraisals, PDP’s and regular 1 to 1’s for direct reports
- Review of key Finance reports (P&L /Balance Sheet) including the provision of supporting variance analysis to ensure monthly submission deadlines are met.
- Responsible for Full Balance Sheet Management, including substantiation of all reconciliation work carried out by the team.
- Responsible for the preparation and management of weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Preparation of VAT, P11d and PSA submissions to HMRC.
- Lead the Statutory accounts process and liaise with the Auditors during the external audit process.
- Ensure all Group requests are addressed timely and accurately.
- Work with key business managers, providing quality financial information to assist with operational decision making.
- Develop financial reporting to increase value to the business.
- Ensure all Finance processes are up to date, documented, and comply with Internal & External Audit recommendations.
- Continuous Process Improvement, delivering process excellence.
- Deal with ad hoc requests within required deadlines.

Qualifications / Experience: Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or CA).
- Track record of career progression and experience in a similar role.
- Practice background, including audit and statutory accounts experience, is desirable.
- Excellent technical foundation in financial accounting, reporting and taxation.
- Confidence and strong interpersonal skills, especially when interfacing with senior management and internal/external stakeholders.
- Strong people management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of developing the role over time.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills with an advanced knowledge of MS Excel and SUN Finance System.
