The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are now looking to employ a Fire Commissioning Engineer to work across the UK. The position will involve, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Multiple system type installation to commissioning and handover of Fire including Addressable/Non-addressable systems, Air Sampling, Beam Detection, Wireless etc in accordance with the current standards and Codes of Practice.
- Work within project time constraints, identifying and communicating without delay any potential risks to the project delivery dates.
- Ability to commission and handover systems in line with the specification and drawings, including giving client demonstrations.
- FIA qualifications (BS5839 Fundamentals/Advanced and Commissioning).
- A full understanding of BS5839 (All parts).
- SSSTS to supervise 3rd parties on sites as required.
- Ensure all relevant H&S requirements are complied with.
- Ensure the health, safety and welfare of yourself and the team in accordance with Company policy.
- Completion of the relevant e-documentation (via tablet) or paperwork in line with FIA & BAFE requirements.
- Actively always support company policy and best practice around fire and security, with emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer information.
- Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines would be a real advantage.
- Product knowledge IE Protec, ADT, Advanced, Kentec, Notifier and Honeywell is required including programming cause and effects.
- Provide technical support for all departments within the City.
- The ability to assist in the teaching and development of trainee Engineers.
- Fully knowledge of ALL clients Way of Working.
- Full knowledge of BS7273 Door Mechanisms and associated control equipment.
- Full knowledge of BS 7671 IEE Regs and Cabling.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A proven background and experience of Fire Alarms minimum of 8 years.
- FIA qualifications (Advanced and Commissioning).
- A full understanding of BS5839 is essential.
- Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines would be a real advantage.
- Ability to program varying manufacturers cause and effects from a laptop is essential.
- Good communication skills are required as majority of the role will involve being in a customer facing environment.
- The ability to work alone and effectively organise your time.
- A good understanding of the Standards which relate to our Industry and the systems we install is required.
- A full understanding of Health and Safety is essential.
- A full clean driving licence and a willingness to travel to locations across the country.
- ECS/CSCS Card.
- IPAF and Asbestos awareness essential.
- SSSTS to enable supervision of third-party contractors while on site is essential.
- A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary and we require a willingness to travel to locations across the country.
- Overnight stays will be required due to the onerous task while commissioning large systems.
- The willingness to travel at short notice is essential.
- On-call while system on soak test and during warranty period.
- Self-motivated and a team player, demonstrating professionalism, positivity and proactive.
