Due to winning new business we have a fantastic opportunity for General Maintenance Technicians to join our teams with local roles available on a national scale across the UK. The purpose of the role is to carry out general maintenance repairs on a reactive basis, including fabric, surfacing and pipework. Alongside the delivery of planned maintenance tasks on site to ensure the sites remain safe, legal and trading. The role is mobile covering various sites in a localised area, (this covers 4 to 5 sites varying types).
We pride ourselves in completing all tasks to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan structured attendance to deliver key activity at each site, completing PPM and reactive jobs on time in full within agreed SLAs.
- Attend and complete all works undertaken following the Health and Safety and Compliance guidelines clearly set out in each task sheet.
- Clearly communicate with the Asda team all activity undertaken on site and be proactive in building strong relationships both with the customer and the City wider team.
- Ongoing utilisation of the Mercury platform, reviewing and updating of jobs, ensuring accurate data is recorded on each task undertaken in a professional manner.
- Responding promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
- Order spare parts as required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance repairs.
Key Tasks:
- Complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA sites as designated by the management team, e.g. repairs to building fabric, car park surfaces or pipework.
- Carry out cleaning of air filters on HVAC equipment.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and to the specified procedures.
- Identify non-repairable issues and advise your line manager of findings, with recommendations for suitable alternatives.
- Working as part of a team, working across a region etc, develop good relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- In addition to the above duties, you will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
- Full driving licence.
- GCSE / equivalent qualifications gained within standard education.
- PC/iPad Literate- Apple and Android.
- Previous experience in General Building repairs e.g. plumbing, joinery, small civil works etc.
- Ability to maintain/repair a range of building fabrics, equipment and ground works, to recognised standards.
Desirable:
- Building Trade Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds).
- Working in a similar role in a similar environment.
- Civil works experience.
The ideal candidate:
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a customer facing environment with a professional can do attitude.
- Able to organise self to manage assigned tasks, determine all material requirements to complete all tasks.
- Experience of working at pace and supporting all the business needs when required.
- Proactively look to improve standards on each site that you are responsible for.
