Job Title: Pest Control Technician
Location: Exeter
Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Pest Control Technician to join our company to work with one of our UK clients, providing complete pest control services (including proofing) to control all pest species covered under our contract. The role involves thorough inspections to identify environmental conditions conducive to pest activity, whether covered by the contract or not.
The technician will visit stores, food halls, outlets, depots, and office sites at scheduled intervals, conducting detailed inspections in a safe and professional manner, adhering to Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations. Effective communication of observations verbally and in writing through reports is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of all pest-related issues, including infestations, cleaning, and proofing, to resolve ongoing problems.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs from the Helpdesk.
- Formulate detailed reports on stores and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery, advising the Area Manager with recommendations for replacement.
- Prioritize recommendations to stores to meet timescales and proactively defend against pest activity.
- Carry out proofing works and installations within technical competence and current specifications.
- Advise and document pest activity and potential impacts on store operations to the Store Manager.
- Comply with the company\’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Use pesticides safely and responsibly as specified under the Control of Substances.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control or British Pest Control Association Diplomas Part 1 and 2.
- Full driving license.
- Experience in pest control environments.
- Experience in retail, leisure, or FM sectors is desirable.
The ideal candidate:
- Bird proofing experience is desirable.
- General building/fabrication skills are desirable.
- Good PC literacy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
