Overview
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
Responsibilities
- Complete the PPM schedule within agreed KPI timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
- Work flexibly within the cluster as required.
- Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
- Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
- Order spares to the laid-down procedures.
- Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and advise the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager with recommendations regarding replacement.
- For non-repairable plant and equipment, make recommendations regarding suitable replacement to the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager.
- Inform the GM and distribution line managers of any repair and maintenance issues likely to affect depot operations.
- Assist the Cluster Facilities Manager in managing depot third party alliance contractors and ensure service inspection paperwork is filed on site.
- Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager.
- Carry out minor alterations, installations, testing and inspection with full company certification as required by current specifications.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance to Asda Distribution sites as designated, including general building repairs, where applicable.
- Assist City colleagues in other areas when requested by the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- C&G 2382 (18th edition)
- Level 3 core Electrical qualification, e.g., C&G 2330, C&G 2365 (with relevant experience), C&G2365, etc.
Desirable
- Familiarity with completion of electrical certification
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
- Time served in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience
