Swansea Council Highways and Transportation department are seeking to appoint a Technical Support Officer. You will have excellent administration skills and be a self-motivated individual to work within a busy Highways office, with the ability to learn new skills quickly. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake various administrative tasks within the Highways Technical Support team based in Clydach.

You will be responsible for dealing with the public mainly by telephone so experience working in a customer-focused environment would be desirable, and the ability to provide effective technical administrative support.

Good communication and team working skills, together with the ability to use Microsoft Office systems will be essential. Previous administrative experience in an office environment is a must, along with the ability to follow processes accurately and experience in using databases is desirable and training will be provided for in-house systems. You will be the main contact for site-based staff on work actions. Candidates with Welsh language skills are desirable.

This role is on a permanent contract of 37 hours a week, and we can offer you in return a generous benefits package including; Generous annual leave, Family friendly policies, Local Government Pension Scheme, Staff discount schemes and opportunity to progress within Swansea Council.
