We are looking for compassionate, reliable people to join our Welham Green Reablement team as Care Assistants. Unlike traditional care where you might do things for a client, reablement is all about doing things with them. It is a specialized, short-term, intensive service (typically lasting up to 6 weeks) designed to help individuals recover and relearn daily skills usually after a hospital stay, a fall, or a period of illness.
You will track their progress, celebrate their daily milestones, and ultimately cheer them on as they regain the ability to live safely and independently without the need for long-term care!
Dacorum District (x2 URGENT Vacancies!): You will be paid per shift at the following rates:
- ~£14.20 per hour Monday to Friday
- ~£16.00 per hour Saturday & Sunday
- ~30p per mile paid for your travel!
- Shifts 7 Days a Week
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Evening Shift: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is strictly required for travel between clients.
As a Reablement Care Assistant, your daily visits will focus on empowering your clients:
- Housekeeping Skills helping them relearn how to manage light cleaning and laundry.
- Health Monitoring closely observing progress and reporting improvements or setbacks.
- Social Inclusion helping them regain the confidence to step back into their community.
Ideally, you'll have at least 6 months of social care experience to join our merry band of care crusaders! Don't worry we'll help you level up your skills and knowledge as part of our close-knit (and delightfully quirky) team.
While experience is a bonus, we're really looking for people who:
- Are committed to respectful, high-quality care that would make your gran proud
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential (some clients live in rural areas and need heroes who can reach them).
Enhanced maternity, adoption & paternity pay
- Pension scheme
- 28 days annual leave (pro rata)
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Enhanced weekend & bank holiday pay
- Paid training (online & face-to-face)
- Career progression opportunities
- Employee benefits & wellbeing platform
- Blue Light Card eligibility (staff discounts)
- Refer-a-Friend bonus (£300 per referral)
- Flexible hours part-time and full-time available
- Local work with the backing of the largest care company in the UK
If you're ready to start a rewarding career supporting people to regain independence and confidence, join our reablement team of everyday heroes. Care By Us is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
