- Mileage: Paid at 45p per mile for travel between clients!
The Ultimate Flexible Shifts (Monday – Friday!)
This role offers incredible work-life balance with shifts available:
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible hours between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Perfect for fitting around the school run or your personal lifestyle!)
Work Locations (Hertfordshire)
As a community-based Support Worker, you will be travelling to support clients across:
- West & Central Herts: Watford, Three Rivers, Hemel Hempstead (HP1, HP2, HP3), Tring, Potten End, Bovingdon, Kings Langley, Pepperstock, Markyate, St Albans (AL3), and Welwyn Garden City (AL7).
- East Herts: Ware & Stanstead Abbotts (SG12), Cheshunt & Goffs Oak (EN7).
About The Role: Respite Support & Day-to-Day Living
In this vital role, you will step in to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers. Your goal is to seamlessly maintain the service user’s normal routine, ensuring their day-to-day living continues exactly as it would with their own family. It is about creating a natural, comforting, and inclusive environment—whether that means sharing a meal, having a chat over a cup of tea, or heading out to the shops—so their regular caregivers can rest and recharge with true peace of mind.
You will be supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours. Your responsibilities will include:
- Family-Style Support: Seamlessly integrating into their daily life and routine to provide companionship and emotional support.
- Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with the utmost dignity.
- Household Support: Cooking, meal preparation, laundry, and light housework to keep their home running smoothly.
- Community Inclusion: Encouraging participation in hobbies, and assisting with community activities to broaden their horizons.
- Medication: Administration or assistance as directed by care plans.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need formal care experience! We train you in everything else, provided you have the right attitude. You will need:
- A genuine desire to help others with patience, empathy, and compassion.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential).
- The Right to Work in the UK (Please note: we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).
