Role Description
The Property Reinsurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the City of London. This role is responsible for managing property reinsurance portfolios, including assessing risk, structuring and placing reinsurance treaties, and monitoring performance against underwriting and financial targets. Daily activities include analyzing property exposure data, reviewing submissions, negotiating terms with brokers and reinsurers, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The manager will prepare reports and forecasts, collaborate with underwriting, finance, and accounting teams, and contribute to the development of reinsurance strategies to support business growth. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with market counterparts and supporting continuous improvement of processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and model property risk and exposure.
- Solid insurance and reinsurance knowledge, with experience in property lines and familiarity with global markets.
- Underwriting expertise related to property risks and reinsurance structures, including treaty and facultative arrangements.
- Finance and accounting skills sufficient to understand portfolio performance, profitability drivers, and capital implications.
- Relevant professional experience in reinsurance, insurance, or risk management, ideally within property classes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or Risk Management; professional qualifications (e.g., ACII or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
