The Role
We are seeking a technically skilled Lecturer to support the growth of our marine autonomy and related engineering provision. The role will draw on expertise in areas such as autonomous systems, automation, robotics, electronics, mechatronics, additive manufacturing, remote operations or systems engineering, helping learners develop the practical and theoretical skills needed for this rapidly evolving sector. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or an industry professional moving into education, you will help shape employer-responsive curriculum and prepare learners for higher-level study and technical careers.
What Will You Bring to the Role
- Adapting - Able to move confidently between different technical disciplines and teaching demands, adapting to developments across autonomy, automation, robotics, electronics, additive manufacturing and related systems.
- Problem-solving - Able to analyse complex technical systems, identify relationships and faults, apply engineering principles in new situations and support learners to develop structured systems-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Learning - Able to continually learn from emerging technologies and industry practice, update technical knowledge quickly and anticipate how developments in autonomous and maritime systems should influence curriculum and delivery.
- Interpreting - Able to interpret and apply relevant quantitative and technical data, including measurements, system outputs, performance information and engineering calculations, to support practical teaching and technical problem-solving.
