We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to head our Inclusion Department (150+ colleagues) and ensure the delivery of high-quality Additional Learning Support (ALS) across the College. The Head of Inclusion will play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating a clear vision for inclusive practice, ensuring learners with SEND and additional needs receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes. This year, we are supporting nearly 600 students with high needs and overall, around a third of our students have an additional need.

Working closely with Assistant SENDCOs, curriculum teams, and specialist support staff, you will lead the design, planning and evaluation of ALS services, ensuring alignment with the College's strategic priorities and legislation. This role will oversee college-wide ALS operations, including statutory compliance, EHCP processes, quality assurance and continuous improvement. You will lead the department through national and local SEND reforms, ensuring staff maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging policy and best practice.

A key part of the role involves effective collaboration with external partners and agencies to ensure timely support for learners and strong multi-agency working. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and resources effectively, identifying and utilising funding streams, and ensuring investment in accessible, inclusive environments.

Through strong leadership, inclusive recruitment, and targeted professional development, you will build a skilled team capable of delivering high-quality support across all curriculum areas. Above all, you will advocate for learners with additional needs, challenging and supporting leaders across the College to embed inclusive practice and reduce achievement gaps.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Helen Richardson-Hulme, Vice Principal Safeguarding, Inclusion and Student Services.

Closing Date: Sunday 8 February 2026 at Midnight. Interviews to be held w/c 23 February 2026.

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service.
