Contract: Temporary on-going (Could lead to permanent)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (07:30am to 15:30pm)

Salary: £13.56 per hour, increasing to £14.13ph after 3 months

Immediate start

Our client is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join them on a temporary on-going basis. For the right candidate, it could lead to a permanent position.

You will be able to carry out the following tasks but not limited to:

  • Chemical Analysis: Of nisin concentration (HPLC), ensuring that all stages of production and the final product conform to company specifications of Plant Support systems. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Microbiological Analysis: Of all stages of production and the final product. Ensure it conforms to company specifications of Plant Support systems. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards to monitor plant hygiene.
  • Culture Stocks Hygiene (Technical) Audits: Participate in site hygiene audits to help maintain company safety and hygiene standards. Participate in site BBS (behavioural based safety) observational programme.
  • Meetings: Attend and participate in all site, SHEQ, improvement and team meetings as appropriate.
  • Company Databases: Maintain all site QC databases. Prepare data for morning and other meetings as appropriate. Provide technical advice to managers with regard to laboratory derived data and its interpretation.

Candidate CV must show:

  • Either a pass degree in Food Science/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology or a laboratory qualification to HNC/HND level with a number of years relevant experience working in food-based laboratories.
