Our client is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.

The position involves the following responsibilities:

  • Chemical Analysis: Performing nisin concentration analysis (HPLC) and ensuring production and final products meet company specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards through microbiological analysis at all production stages.
  • Monitoring plant hygiene and maintaining culture stocks.
  • Participating in site hygiene audits and behavioural safety programmes.
  • Attending and contributing to site, SHEQ, and team meetings.

Company Databases:

  • Maintaining site QC databases.
  • Preparing data for meetings.
  • Providing technical advice based on laboratory data.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Pass degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a laboratory qualification at HNC/HND level with relevant experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in science-based studies with relevant experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills and high accuracy in routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Must hold a valid passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance.
  • Legal right to live and work in the UK, with documented evidence provided during recruitment.

Working Details:

  • Monday to Friday, 07:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • 40 hours per week
  • Β£12.50 per hour, increasing to Β£13.56 after 3 months
  • Immediate start
