Beaminster, Dorset

Monday to Friday (07:30am to 15:30pm)
Pay: £13.56 per hour, increasing to £14.13 per hour after 3 months
Location requirement: Must live within 30 miles of DT8 Beaminster.
Our client is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join them on a temporary on-going basis. For the right candidate it could lead to a permanent position.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Chemical Analysis: HPLC analysis of nisin concentration; ensuring all stages of production and final product conform to company specifications. Microbiological analysis at all production stages and final product, maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards. Monitoring plant hygiene and maintaining culture stocks.
- Hygiene (Technical) Audits: Participate in site hygiene audits to help maintain company safety and hygiene standards. Contribute to behaviour-based safety (BBS) observational programmes and attend all relevant site, SHEQ, improvement and team meetings.
- Company Databases: Maintain all site QC databases. Prepare data for meetings. Provide technical advice to managers regarding laboratory-derived data and its interpretation.
Qualifications: Pass degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Microbiology, or laboratory qualification to HNC/HND level with relevant experience in food-based laboratories. NVQ Level 3 in science-based studies with relevant experience considered. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to perform routine and non-routine tasks accurately.
Requirements: Passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance.
