Over the past 12 months, it has deployed in excess of £350m, demonstrating both its operational capability and its commitment to supporting the UK housebuilding sector. The loan book is heavily weighted towards residential development, with a broad range of projects including housing schemes, apartment developments, and select specialist residential assets such as retirement living and social housing. While the business does consider mixed-use schemes, these are typically residential-led. Due to continued growth and increasing deal flow, the business is now looking to strengthen its origination team. This hire will play a key role in driving new lending opportunities and contributing to the firm’s ambitious growth plans.
Role Overview
This role will focus on originating and structuring new development finance opportunities, primarily within the residential sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with SME housebuilders and property developers, with the aim of generating a consistent pipeline of high-quality transactions. You will work closely with internal credit and execution teams to ensure deals are structured effectively and progressed efficiently through to completion. Externally, you will engage with borrowers, brokers, and industry professionals to build a strong network and drive new business. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to leverage your existing network while benefiting from the support of an established platform. You will be expected to take ownership of deals from initial origination through to completion. Given the nature of the lending book, the role will predominantly focus on residential development transactions, including housing schemes, apartment blocks, and some specialist residential projects.
Responsibilities
- Originate and structure development finance transactions (£1m–£30m)
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, investors, and intermediaries
- Generate and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
- Assess opportunities and present deals internally
- Work closely with credit and execution teams to progress transactions
- Negotiate commercial terms with borrowers and brokers
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends and competitor activity
- Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities

The ideal candidate will be a driven and commercially astute originator with a strong track record in development finance. You will be confident in building relationships, proactive in generating opportunities, and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy.
