Role Overview

This role will focus on originating and structuring new development finance opportunities, primarily within the residential sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with SME housebuilders and property developers, with the aim of generating a consistent pipeline of high-quality transactions. You will work closely with internal credit and execution teams to ensure deals are structured effectively and progressed efficiently through to completion. Externally, you will engage with borrowers, brokers, and industry professionals to build a strong network and drive new business. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to leverage your existing network while benefiting from the support of an established platform. You will be expected to take ownership of deals from initial origination through to completion. Given the nature of the lending book, the role will predominantly focus on residential development transactions, including housing schemes, apartment blocks, and some specialist residential projects.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and structure development finance transactions (£1m–£30m)
  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, investors, and intermediaries
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Assess opportunities and present deals internally
  • Work closely with credit and execution teams to progress transactions
  • Negotiate commercial terms with borrowers and brokers
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends and competitor activity
