City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected, well-funded and fast-growing specialist property finance lender, who have retained our services to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager at an exciting stage of their continued growth. Our client operates across the bridging and development finance markets and has built an excellent reputation for delivering fast, flexible and commercially minded funding solutions to brokers, introducers and borrowers.

The Company

Our client is a dynamic, entrepreneurial and relationship-led specialist lender operating predominantly within the bridging and development finance space. Established in 2019, the business has quickly built a strong reputation for its ability to deliver fast, flexible and creative funding solutions, underpinned by a genuine commitment to supporting brokers, intermediaries and borrowers. The business has developed a strong position in the market through its deal-first mindset, agile approach to lending and appetite for complex or non-standard cases. This has enabled them to build trusted relationships across the specialist property finance sector, while continuing to grow lending volumes and broaden their reach.

As part of their next phase of growth, the company has successfully expanded its institutional funding panel, including the addition of major new funding lines. This provides the business with enhanced lending power and the ability to continue scaling its loan book in line with ambitious commercial objectives. To support this growth, they are now seeking a confident, connected and commercially astute Senior Business Development Manager to lead the origination of new lending opportunities across the South of the UK. This individual will play a key role in increasing lending volumes, strengthening introducer relationships and supporting the business as it continues to scale.

Role Overview

The primary objective of this Senior Business Development Manager role is to achieve lending growth through the successful delivery of agreed lending targets. This will be achieved by engaging with brokers, intermediaries and borrowers to identify, structure and onboard suitable lending opportunities that align with our client’s lending appetite. You will be responsible for strategically managing your diary, appointments and introducer activity to ensure sufficient origination volumes are achieved and converted into completed lending. The role will require a proactive, visible and relationship-led individual who is confident being out in the market, building relationships and driving new business. Internally, you will work closely with the company’s credit, underwriting and senior leadership teams to ensure deals are progressed efficiently from initial enquiry through to completion. This support structure is designed to give you the freedom to focus on relationship management, business generation and market activity, while still ensuring strong deal execution and borrower outcomes. Externally, you will work closely with brokers, introducers, intermediaries and borrowers, developing long-term commercial partnerships and maximising repeat business. Over time, the successful candidate will also be expected to help shape sales strategy, build a team beneath them and progress towards a Sales Director position once agreed objectives and performance levels have been achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and originate new lending opportunities across specialist property finance
  • Build, manage and grow relationships with brokers, introducers, intermediaries and borrowers
  • Onboard new introducers and develop long-term commercial partnerships
  • Negotiate and agree commercial terms with external partners
  • Manage a pipeline of lending opportunities from enquiry through to completion
  • Ensure lending opportunities are aligned with the company’s appetite and commercial objectives
  • Strategically manage appointments, diary activity and market engagement to drive origination volumes
  • Drive repeat business and maximise introducer engagement
  • Meet or exceed agreed lending targets
  • Work closely with internal credit and underwriting teams to progress deals efficiently
  • Support key borrower requirements and service expectations throughout the lending process
  • Contribute to business development strategy and future team growth
  • Represent the business professionally in the market and enhance its profile across the South of the UK

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, relationship-driven and commercially minded property finance professional with a proven track record in bridging and/or development finance. You will be confident operating in a fast-paced, deal-led environment and will have the credibility, network and motivation required to originate lending opportunities, convert pipeline and build long-term introducer relationships. This opportunity will particularly suit someone who is motivated by progression, autonomy, performance-led reward and the opportunity to step into a future leadership role.

On Offer

Our client is ideally looking to offer a basic salary of between £60k - £75k, relevant to experience, network and proven lending track record. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent with the ability to deliver significant lending volumes. The salary will be complemented by a strong uncapped bonus structure, designed to reward you directly for the deals you originate and the loans you fund. This creates a clear opportunity to drive a significant increase in annual earnings through performance. This is also a standout long-term career opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with the board on business development and commercial strategy, with a defined pathway to progress into a Sales Director role once objectives have been achieved. This progression would include the opportunity to build, manage and grow a team beneath you, while taking greater ownership of lending targets and sales strategy. The role is based in London, with a strong market-facing remit across the South of the UK. The position will naturally require regular external meetings with brokers, introducers, intermediaries and borrowers, supported by close collaboration with internal credit and underwriting teams.

Next Steps

There is a reasonable amount of urgency to fill this position in line with our client’s growth objectives. Due to the nature of the role and opportunity, we do not expect it to be on the market for long. Therefore, if this role does sound like one that you are both qualified for and interested in, then we look forward to your application as soon as possible. Once we have reviewed your application, we will be in touch with an update. We look forward to hearing from you.
