Our client has experienced exciting & continued growth over recent years, driven and underpinned by strong and secure relationships with funding partners, as well as exciting additions to the product portfolio.
This role would suit an experienced development finance professional who is comfortable in originations, credit work and portfolio oversight.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to originate and deliver sizeable development finance transactions while retaining ownership throughout the full lending lifecycle.

Our client is well-capitalised and as a result, in a strong position to drive growth in key areas. The ideal individual for this role will be operating in London & the Southeast, with a strong network of (and reputation with) brokers, introducers and borrowers.
The lenders proposition now ensures they can support developers & investors across residential developments, student accommodation, BTR, care & other specialist/niche areas.
The lender has the appetite and funding capability to support meaningful transaction sizes while retaining a flexible and commercially minded approach to structuring.
Role Overview
As Lending Director, your primary responsibility to support the broader business growth is to agree, and achieve, your own personal lending target for your region.
To achieve this, you will rely on your origination skills, as well as your market connections and BD activity, to identify, engage with and onboard loan enquiries that match the appetite of the lender. You will ensure that your pipeline of activity is managed in line with borrower needs and your capacity to achieve target.
As a senior lender, you will take the lead on initial deal assessment & structuring, developing credit papers to present to credit and the credit committee, and working closely with the underwriting function as deals progress.
Finally, once deals have been funded, you will take on oversight responsibilities within your portfolio, proactive seeking opportunities to refinance, restructure or lend to existing borrowers.
Throughout you will be heavily supported by our client’s team in HQ who will deliver assistance where required across the lending cycle, from origination to redemption. This includes junior team members, senior directors and established specialists within the legal, case management, credit & portfolio functions.
The successful candidate will therefore combine strong technical lending knowledge with the commercial capability and market presence required to originate new opportunities.
Responsibilities
· Agree & achieve lending & revenue targets for your region
· Build/maintain relationships with property professionals, brokers & introducers
· Negotiate commercial terms with borrowers and advisers.
· Actively identify and onboard new lending requirements that meet appetite
· Oversee the pipeline of opportunity, ensuring sufficient value to achieve targets
· Undertake deal assessment, structuring and credit papers
· Work closely with credit and the credit committee to agree funded loans
· Support transaction execution and drawdowns, where required
· Take oversight of your funded portfolio & engage with clients throughout
· Actively identify opportunities for existing borrowers to maximise relationships
· Coordinate lawyers, valuers, monitoring surveyors and other professionals.
· Manage transactions through due diligence, documentation and completion.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role must be an established development finance professional with demonstrable success in a similar ‘cradle-to-grave role,’ where responsibilities to origination, deal assessment & portfolio are evident.
You will demonstrate a proven ability to achieve agreed lending targets.
You will be connected to borrowers and brokers in the South East and will be comfortable engaging with and managing complex development finance and bridging enquiries.
· Strong experience across the development finance lending cycle
· A proven track record within deal origination and achieving lending targets
· Excellent deal negotiation, structuring and assessment skills
· Strong understanding of development risk and credit principles
· An established network of property developers and direct borrowers.
· Strong relationships with brokers and other professional introducers.
· Experience handling sizeable or complex development finance transactions.
· Strong commercial judgement
· The ability to communicate credibly with senior borrowers and stakeholders.
On Offer
Our client is ideally looking to pay to c£120k basic salary, relevant to experience. Higher offers could be considered for exceptional experience & potential.
Salary will be complemented by a highly attractive bonus scheme that will drive a significant OTE, based on performance. This structure is entirely uncapped and generous, allowing you to be in control of your annual take home.
The role requires someone commutable to London due to the patch and capacity to attend the office to collaborate on deals and cases where needed.
