As Business Development Manager, your ultimate objective will be to achieve agreed lending targets for your region, which in turn enhance the company’s growth plans and exciting future objectives. You will achieve this by generating and converting lending opportunities that match the businesses lending appetite and will work strategically to manage your diary of appointments with brokers, introducers and borrowers. You will also be expected to act as a ‘face of the business’ and will therefore attend plenty of industry events to drive activity, as well as reputational growth. You will be ably supported by our client’s strong & experienced team in HQ with aspects such as case management, underwriting, completions and credit. You will also benefit from direct access to the board where you can work to influence strategy and results, whilst also benefitting from their market knowledge and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Achieved agreed lending objectives for your region
  • Manage & enhance your broker & introducer network
  • Proactively identify, onboard and fund opportunities that match company appetite
  • Work closely with the internal case management & credit teams to deliver results
  • Liaise with the board on market opportunities and business enhancements
  • Maintain a clear understanding of deal quality, lending appetite and market conditions
  • Be a key ‘face of the business’ & drive reputational standing across the space

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in bridging finance lending and will have a strong and accessible network for new originations. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate a strong lending track record and the capacity to strategically manage time to deliver results against lending objectives. The ideal personality traits would include someone who is proactive in approach, target-centric and comfortable working in a fast paced and growing environment.

  • Experienced in short-term property finance lending
  • Well connected to brokers, borrowers and introducers in London and the South
  • Proven ability to originate & close short-term property lending opportunities
  • Strong commercial judgement and good deal awareness
  • Confidence representing a lender externally with brokers, introducers and borrowers
  • Professional credibility and a strong market reputation
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Appetite to progress and grow into a more senior role as the business scales

On Offer

Our client is ideally looking to pay up to £70k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, relevant to experience. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s fantastic bonus structure too, that will reward you for the loans you successfully complete and will drive a significant OTE based on performance. Notably, as our client is currently boutique in size, but big in ambition and personality, this is also a role that can create future growth opportunities for you, as excellent performance is delivered. The upcoming growth is set to drive more senior roles within the business with a preference to promoting from within. Therefore, opportunities to progress career standing and salary within may be achieved, where successful in this role.
