City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected and growing development, bridging and commercial investment lender who are actively seeking to appoint a confident and experienced BDM to their buoyant external sales team. Our client is strongly backed by institutional funding and has strong ambitions to grow the loan book in the coming period. This hire is part of a broader plan to increase market share and to enhance support to property developers, investors and the broker market.

The Company: Our client is a long-standing and well-known lender in the real estate finance sector and offers highly competitive rates and terms for development finance, bridging finance and investment properties. While primarily they support developers, investors and SME businesses with access to debt for key real estate projects, they also align closely with the broker and introducer market, offering a broad range of client opportunity and outcomes. The company is in a great place and looking to push forward. To support this, they are actively increasing the team across key positions, including relationships and sales.

As a result, they are seeking a confident, knowledgeable and proactive BDM who is confident in their abilities to identify and onboard lending enquiries to achieve agreed lending objectives.

Role Overview: As BDM your primary responsibility will be to support the company's broader lending objectives, by achieving lending targets that will be agreed. To achieve this, you will strategically manage your diary of appointments to engage with brokers, introducers and borrowers and to attend relevant industry events and forums. You will educate the brokers on client offerings whilst proactively onboarding new lending opportunities that meet lending appetite. You will be ably supported throughout via assistance from our client’s experienced business units, including legal, compliance, finance, marketing, underwriting and credit. This position offers significant autonomy and visibility within the organisation, making it well suited to an individual who enjoys originating business, building relationships and contributing directly towards commercial growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with brokers and borrowers to drive new opportunities into the pipeline
  • Undertake initial deal assessments to ensure they meet lending appetite
  • Liaise with credit and support functions to progress deals in line with SLAs
  • Attend industry events and forums and act as a face of the business in industry
  • Undertake regular broker visits, networking activity and industry engagement
  • Liaise with internal functions, such as marketing, to enhance your personal brand
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting information
  • Achieve agreed lending, revenue and business generation objectives

Candidate Requirements: The ideal individual for this role will have a proven track record of lending in the real estate finance sector, ideally across bridging, development, BTL or commercial mortgages. You will be proactive in your approach and an excellent negotiator and communicator. You will be experienced when working with brokers and supporting pipeline delivery.

On Offer: Our client is ideally looking to pay up to £85k basic package, relevant to experience. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented with access to an outstanding bonus structure that will significantly increase annual take home. This is a home-based role where you will strategically manage your own diary of appointments to achieve agreed objectives. Finally, due to the outlined growth, our client has also noted that opportunities to propel salary and career standing within may be prevalent, where excellent performance is delivered.
