City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected and growing development, bridging and commercial investment lender who are actively seeking to appoint a confident and experienced Relationship Director to their team. Our client is strongly backed by institutional funding and has strong ambitions to grow the loan book in the coming period. This hire is part of a broader plan to increase market share and to enhance support to property developers, investors and the broker market.
The Company: Our client is a long-standing and well-known lender in the real estate finance sector and offers highly competitive rates and terms for development finance, bridging finance and investment properties. They primarily support developers, investors and SME businesses with access to debt for key real estate projects, while also aligning closely with the broker and introducer market, offering a broad range of client opportunity and outcomes. Role Overview: As RD, your primary responsibility will be to support the company's broader lending objectives by achieving lending targets that will be agreed. This will be achieved through the engagement of brokers and borrowers in the market, actively seeking lending requirements that meet the appetite of our client. Once onboarded, you will structure the deals with a view to working with credit to drive applications to completion. You will also be responsible for the performance of the lending portfolio and client satisfaction, including seeking and engaging with opportunities to support existing clients with refinance, restructuring or new facilities. You will be confident in achieving a strong redemption rate within your loan portfolio. You will be ably supported throughout via assistance from our client’s experienced business units, including legal, compliance, finance, marketing, underwriting and credit.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with brokers and borrowers to drive new opportunities into the pipeline
- Undertake initial deal assessments, structuring and credit papers
- Liaise with credit and support functions to progress deals in line with SLAs
- Support transaction execution where required
- Oversee a portfolio of live loans and current clients with a commercial mindset
- Undertake site visits and client meetings to support the performance of loans/projects
- Achieve agreed lending, revenue and relationship growth objectives
Candidate Requirements: The ideal individual for this role must be an experienced real estate finance lender with confidence to manage clients and loans from origination to redemption (and everything in between). Development finance experience is key, balancing origination with strong credit stewardship and portfolio management. A proven track record of loan origination within the real estate finance sector is essential. Strong credit skills and principles, knows a good deal and is confident in deal structuring. Previous experience in the management of real estate finance portfolios and clients is required. Experience in development finance (ground up) is essential. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are necessary. Commercially driven and target orientated. Strong organisational and pipeline management capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders. Full UK driving licence required.
On Offer: Our client is ideally looking to pay up to £105k basic package, relevant to experience. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented with access to an outstanding bonus structure that will significantly increase annual take home. This is a home-based role where you will strategically manage your own diary of appointments to achieve agreed objectives.
