City Capital are currently representing a highly respected and fast-growing property finance lender who have retained our services to appoint a highly organised and forward-thinking Executive Assistant (EA) who will work in support of the company’s Head of Governance.

Our client is a leading specialist property finance lender who have built a strong reputation for providing fast, flexible and tailored property finance solutions to professional property investors and developers. They have grown at an exponential rate over recent years, doubling the size of their headcount consistently year on year and expanding into new exciting markets. As a result, the business infrastructure has reached the point where it requires strong governance as our client targets the next phase of growth.

Role Overview

As EA to the Head of Governance, you can expect to undertake the traditional duties associated with an EA role. This is likely to include (but may not be limited to) functions such as diary management, travel arrangements, support with clients and partners, managing and administrating projects, creating presentations, managing emails and communications, creating and distributing reports, etc. In addition to the core role duties, you can expect to work closely on key governance projects that drive the needs of the business. This role sits at the intersection between compliance, risk management, board oversight and corporate integrity, ensuring you can be influential in your support to aspects such as the governance framework and oversight, regulatory compliance and conduct risk management integration, board and executive support, ethics and culture, and reporting and assurance. This role also sits parallel to the company’s wider change and strategic transformation project that will see you engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to drive success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level executive and administrative support to the Governance Lead
  • Manage complex calendars and scheduled governance meetings (board and committee)
  • Support governance processes including distribution and preparation of board packs
  • Liaise with legal, compliance and risk for alignment on governance and regulatory matters
  • Represent senior members of staff preparing minutes, agendas and actions
  • Draft and proofread internal and external communications, reports and governance documents
  • Prepare reports from business analysis research in legal to support decision making
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities that present in your research findings
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive legal and financial information
  • Proactively pinpoint process improvements with legal and governance workflows
  • Support the broader legal and governance team with operational and admin tasks

Candidate Requirements

The ideal individual for this role will be an experienced EA who is confident and comfortable when operating in a fast-paced and growing environment. You will be proactive in your approach, quick to address opportunities and problems as they arise. This role would likely suit an experienced EA from a governance or legal background, but we can also consider individuals who have experienced governance support in a general PA or EA role. You will be highly organised, adept at managing multiple processes simultaneously and will be a true project leader in approach, able to command and engage internal and external stakeholders to a shared goal and outcome.

Experience

  • Experience as an EA, Senior PA or a similar role
  • Proven experience supporting senior leaders or executives, particularly in governance
  • Working in financial services or legal services prior is highly desirable but non-essential
  • Skilled in all areas of Microsoft, particularly Excel for analysis and interpretation
  • Ability to manage and monitor multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to tone and audience
  • Experience in managing confidential legal, financial and strategic information discreetly
  • Ability to synthesise complex data into clear reports and executive-level presentations

On Offer

Our client is ideally looking to pay between £60k - £75k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, which will be relevant to experience. Higher offers may also be considered for an exceptional track record in the relevant markets. Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s favourable bonus scheme too, with the bonus potential allowing you to substantially increase annual earnings based on performance. Notably, as the firm is growing and with the governance team in its early phases and expected to expand, this is also a role where opportunities to propel salary and career standing forward within may be prevalent where excellent performance is delivered. This is an excellent time to get on board where your input can have a true impact on fundamental long-term business success.

Due to the high level of collaboration required in this role, it will be based in our client’s fantastic Central London offices.
