City Calling is recruiting a VAC EX Driver for a major construction project in Hounslow. Our client is looking for an experienced and reliable VAC EX Driver to join a busy construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Vacuum Excavator safely and efficiently, supporting excavation, utility and enabling works across the site. The role • Operating a Vacuum Excavator (VAC EX) safely and efficiently on a busy construction site • Carrying out vacuum excavation around underground services, utilities and other sensitive areas • Excavating and removing soil, spoil, slurry and other materials using the vacuum system • Working alongside groundworkers, site teams and other plant operators to support excavation works • Following site plans, RAMS and instructions from the Site Supervisor/Manager • Carrying out daily checks and basic maintenance of the vehicle and equipment • Ensuring the vehicle is operated within manufacturer and site safety requirements • Safely positioning the vehicle and setting up equipment before excavation works • Monitoring suction, hoses and equipment during operations • Loading and transporting excavated material in accordance with site requirements • Maintaining a clean and safe working area around the vehicle • Reporting defects, damage, hazards or issues with the equipment immediately • Following all site health and safety procedures and environmental requirements • Working safely around underground utilities and other site personnel What you’ll need • Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card • Previous experience operating a VAC EX / Vacuum Excavator • Construction or civil engineering site experience • Good understanding of safe excavation practices and working around underground services • Ability to follow RAMS, site instructions and health & safety procedures • Full PPE • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a site team • Excellent timekeeping and reliability • Ability to carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks Nice to have • Valid CSCS card • EUSR or utility-related training • NRSWA / Streetworks qualifications • Experience working around live utilities and underground services • Experience on highways, civils or infrastructure projects • Previous experience working on large construction or infrastructure sites What we offer • Ongoing work on a major construction project in Hounslow • Competitive rates of pay • Weekly pay • Long-term work for the right candidate • Opportunity to work with a well-established construction client • Access to City Calling's wider portfolio of construction and infrastructure clients across London and the South East Apply now — send your CV and relevant licence/certification details to City Calling, or call the team for a chat.
