Traffic Marshall Supervisor needed in Central London – Short-Term Cover
- Location: Central London
- Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour (Paid under CIS/UTR arrangement)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm (9.5 hours paid daily)
- Contract Type: 1-Week Cover

We are currently looking for a competent and experienced Traffic Marshall Supervisor to oversee traffic management operations on a busy construction site in Central London. This is initially a short-term cover position for one week, but for the right candidate, it could lead to extended work depending on performance and site needs.
As the Traffic Marshall Supervisor, you will take charge of overseeing the safe movement of vehicles and plant equipment on a high-traffic construction site. You will ensure traffic marshalls are positioned correctly, all site movements are carried out in line with H&S standards, and vehicle access is coordinated efficiently to minimise delays and ensure pedestrian safety. This is a hands-on supervisory role and will require an experienced individual with both the practical skills and leadership abilities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising all traffic marshalls and ensuring they are deployed effectively across the site
- Monitoring and coordinating site traffic movements, ensuring all operations are carried out safely
- Liaising with site management and logistics teams to manage vehicle deliveries and plant movement
- Enforcing traffic management plans and updating them when necessary in consultation with the site team
- Directing plant, lorries, and vehicles into/out of the site when needed
- Keeping pedestrian walkways and traffic routes safe and clear
- Ensuring daily safety protocols and risk assessments are followed by the team
- Reporting any unsafe behaviours or site incidents immediately
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Traffic Marshall / Vehicle Banksman ticket – Essential
- Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – Essential
- Previous experience as a Traffic Marshall Supervisor or in a similar site-based supervisory role
- Strong understanding of construction site logistics and health & safety protocols
- Ability to lead by example and provide clear direction to team members
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Full PPE including hard hat, high-vis, gloves, and safety boots
