Job Purpose:
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations within a specified region.
To perform planned and reactive maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and building assets in ASDA stores efficiently and cost-effectively, complying with Company Health and Safety procedures.
Key Accountabilities
Principal Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- Complete all necessary PPMs, ensuring accurate logging and actioning of remedial tasks, in compliance with legal standards.
- Supervise the Maintenance Assistant, providing coaching and support.
- Respond promptly to service requests, assess job requirements, and carry out repairs.
- Prioritize maintenance work to meet timescales and SLA commitments.
- Communicate with Store Management and RES regarding repair issues affecting store operations.
- Conduct surveys and complete reports as needed.
- Carry out alterations and installations within your technical scope and current specifications.
- Perform general repairs on store sites as designated by the RES, including building fabric repairs.
- Assist other MSTs in different Stores/Regions upon request.
- Recruit and select qualified Maintenance Assistants following company policies.
- Maintain accurate administration records, including job tracking and time management.
- Attend training to stay current with technical developments, including overnight stays if necessary.
- Comply with Health and Safety policies at all times.
- Ensure completion of relevant compliance documentation to quality standards.
- Ensure team attendance and completion of mandatory training modules.
- Provide coaching and technical support to team members.
- Participate in Out of Hours standby rota, performing repairs to plumbing, drainage, and equipment as required.
- Follow any other reasonable instructions from the RES or management team.
Additional Responsibilities
People Management:
- Manage and oversee Maintenance Assistants and Mobile Maintenance Assistants, including recruitment, scheduling, and absence management.
General Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Desirable: GCSE Standard
- Essential: C&G 2382 (18th edition), Level 3 core Electrical qualification (e.g., C&G 2330, 2365), with relevant experience.
- Desirable: Electrical certification completion, City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection, industry experience in electrical roles.
Specific Knowledge:
- Essential: Knowledge of 3-phase electrics and applications.
