Job Purpose
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner whilst in compliance with the Company Health and Safety policy.

  • Although not an exhaustive list, this is likely to include wood-working machinery, PLC, HVAC systems, compactors, lighting and other static and portable electrical equipment, systems and circuitry.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Representing the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • To collate and complete the PPM schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  • To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  • To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Facilities Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
  • To advise the Facilities Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
  • To manage the attendance of any subcontractors if required in line with the Facilities Manager request and company process.
  • To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Facilities Manager.
  • To carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
  • To maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required.
  • To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
  • To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the Line Manager.
  • Ensuring company vehicle (where provided) is kept clean, well maintained and serviced as required.
