At City Brickwork, we pride ourselves in delivering exceptional and complex masonry projects. We have built a strong relationship in the industry and continue to grow. We are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors / Quantity Surveyors to join our growing commercial team and lead the financial management of high-value projects.
The Role: As a key member of the commercial team, you will be involved in and oversee aspects of cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial control on multiple projects. You’ll drive performance, manage risk, and ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Project Locations: Across London and within the M25
Project Values: Between £1m - £9m
Head Office Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Commercial Manager and Directors
- Take ownership of the commercial delivery across multiple projects
- Prepare, manage, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Produce monthly CVRs and project valuations
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
- Contribute to estimating and demonstrate strong pricing capability
- Ensure robust contract administration, including variations, dispute resolution, and final accounts
- Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
About You:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Experience in a Senior QS or Surveying role within the construction industry
- Brickwork or subcontracting background desirable, but not essential
- Proven track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes on projects
- Strong team player with excellent time management skills
- Good contractual knowledge (e.g. JCT, NEC).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Driving licence
