Renewable Energy Project Lead β Duchy of Cornwall
Location: London, Bath or Cornwall with regular travel across the whole estate.
The Duchy of Cornwall is a dynamic future-focused landed estate dedicated to creating positive impact for people, places and the planet. We are passionate about creating transformative change for the communities we serve by building healthy, environmentally sustainable communities and supporting a thriving planet to build a better future together.
We are looking for an experienced renewables professional to build a new line of business in clean energy generation across Duchy of Cornwall land and property. Reporting to the Executive Director for Purpose, you will play a central role in helping us reach our provisional target of 100MW of installed renewable capacity by 2035, delivering projects that support a fair and affordable net zero transition for our tenants, communities and the country.
You will lead projects from site identification and commercial evaluation through design, environmental assessment, community engagement, planning and development to pre-construction. For smaller-scale projects, you will oversee delivery through to operation, and you will also manage land lease agreements with third-party developers where appropriate. This role offers the chance to drive innovation, champion community benefit and bring forward emerging technologies with real potential to scale.
With at least eight years experience in renewable energy project development across multiple technologies, you will understand the technical, commercial and environmental aspects of complex projects and be confident working with planning authorities, statutory consultees and local communities. You will be a capable project and commercial manager, an effective communicator and a collaborative leader with a strong analytical mindset and positive, adaptable approach. A full UK driving licence is required; qualifications such as RTPI, RICS or similar are beneficial but not essential.
If you are a proactive renewables expert ready to shape high-impact projects and help deliver a cleaner energy future, we would love to hear from you!
Closing date: 12th January 2026.
We conduct first interviews on Teams and second interviews in person. The Duchy of Cornwall is proud to promote a culture of wellbeing and equity. Through our recruitment process we aim to recruit the very best employees from varied cultural and social backgrounds, with a variety of skills and experiences.
