As a Children’s Complex Care Assistant, you’ll support a young person with complex needs to live safely and enjoy daily life at home and in the community. You’ll receive full training and clinical support in areas such as epilepsy management, PEG feeding, oral suctioning, and airway care.

Your role will include:

  • Delivering person-centred care and supporting all daily living needs.
  • Managing complex clinical care, including epilepsy and respiratory support.
  • Monitoring health and responding to changes.
  • Supporting access to school and community activities.

You’ll also help create meaningful, enjoyable experiences, supporting activities like music, sensory play, reading, outdoor time, and trips out. You should be comfortable working in a family home with pets.

The individual has complex needs including spastic quadriplegia, epilepsy, severe learning disabilities, is non-verbal and non-mobile, requires airway management, and receives nutrition via PEG. This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference every day.

  • Have previous care experience (complex care experience is an advantage).
  • Be a clear and confident communicator.
  • Be attentive, patient, and able to engage and interact throughout your shift.
  • Provide high-quality personal care, including medication administration and hoisting.
