Your kindness could be the best part of someone’s day. Helping someone get ready for the morning. Sharing a laugh over a cup of tea. Supporting a person to enjoy their favourite activity or feel confident at home. At Sage Care, these everyday moments matter.

We’re looking for friendly, dependable Community Support Workers to join our growing Ealing branch team, supporting people across West London to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes. If you enjoy meeting people, listening to their stories and lending a helping hand, you could bring something special to our team.

You’ll provide personal care, practical help and companionship — building relationships while helping people maintain their choices, routines and independence.

What is homecare? Homecare means visiting people in their own homes and providing support tailored to their individual needs. For one person, that might mean help getting washed and dressed. For another, it could be preparing lunch, supporting medication or helping them get out into the community. You’ll follow each person’s care plan, encouraging them to do what they can for themselves and offering support where it’s needed.

Where you’ll make a difference: Join our Ealing Sage Care team, supporting people in their own homes across:

  • Maida Vale and Kilburn — W9 / NW6
  • Chelsea — SW3
  • West Brompton and Chelsea — SW10
  • Belgravia and surrounding Westminster neighbourhoods — SW1W / SW1X

We aim to match you with clients close to home wherever possible, helping you build meaningful relationships within your local community. No driving licence or vehicle required. You’ll need to be comfortable travelling between clients’ homes, and your travel time between visits is paid.

Pay that’s clear:

  • Monday to Friday: £14.80 per hour
  • Saturday: £14.80 per hour
  • Sunday: £15.30 per hour
  • Enhanced Bank Holiday rates

You’ll be paid hourly, including travel time between client visits.

Find a working pattern that suits you: Our services operate seven days a week, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Current availability requirements include:

  • Long-day availability: 7am–9pm, with availability across at least five days a week for these opportunities
  • Weekend availability: 8am–9pm or 2pm–9pm
  • Evenings: 4pm–9pm

We’ll talk through your availability, local care requirements and the actual rota during recruitment. Guaranteed-hours opportunities are available, with the contracted hours and working pattern agreed before you join.

Support independence. Build confidence. Bring companionship. You’ll provide person-centred care that respects each client’s dignity, privacy and preferences.

Your role will include:

  • Personal care: Supporting washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care with sensitivity and respect.
  • Medication support: Providing reminders, collecting prescriptions and assisting with or administering medication in line with your training and the care plan.
  • Meals and nutrition: Preparing meals, snacks and drinks, considering dietary needs and preferences, and helping with eating and drinking where required.
  • Mobility: Supporting safe movement, transfers and use of mobility aids, including support following a hospital stay where set out in the care plan.
  • Everyday tasks: Helping with shopping, laundry, changing beds, light cleaning and keeping the home comfortable.
  • Companionship: Making time for conversation, shared interests and activities that help reduce loneliness.
  • Community connections: Supporting outings, appointments, hobbies and contact with friends and family.
  • Emotional support: Offering patience, reassurance and a listening ear.
  • Wellbeing and safety: Noticing and reporting changes, recognising concerns and following the appropriate procedures in an emergency.
  • Records and teamwork: Keeping accurate care records and communicating with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.

Your aim is to help people keep doing the things that matter to them, with the right support at the right time.

Qualifications: Bring your people skills — we’ll help you develop your care skills. We also welcome people starting their first role in care and provide paid training and ongoing support. You may have gained valuable skills in retail, hospitality, customer service, volunteering or caring for someone close to you. Patience, reliability and the ability to put someone at ease can make a real difference here.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are kind, approachable and respectful.
  • Listen carefully and communicate clearly.
  • Are comfortable providing personal care with dignity.
  • Are reliable, organised and committed to keeping appointments.
  • Can work independently and ask for support when needed.
  • Bring a practical approach to solving problems.
  • Are willing to learn and follow individual care plans.
  • Can travel between clients within the local community.
  • Have the existing right to work in the UK.

We welcome applicants of all genders. Please note: we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for these positions.

Support for your work, wellbeing and future: As part of Sage Care and City & County Healthcare Group, you’ll receive:

  • Guaranteed-hours opportunities, subject to an agreed contract and working pattern.
  • Fully paid training, including online and face-to-face induction.

  • Ongoing development and progression into senior care, coaching and management roles.
