We are actively seeking female care assistants across the following areas to support our female clients in their homes. At Care by Us, every day is different and offers you the opportunity to do meaningful and rewarding work that changes people's lives. We support service users in various locations across Hertfordshire.

WORK LOCATION: We welcome applications from drivers based in and around the surrounding areas.

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.00 per hour plus 30p mileage. Shifts work across seven days a week, EVENING – 2:00 pm – 10:00/11:00 pm.

Care Assistant: Role & Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients to live safer and supported lives in their own homes by following individual care plans.
  • Assisting with personal care, helping clients to bathe, dress, manage incontinence, use the toilet, and supporting them with their medication.
  • Helping with practical tasks like shopping, mealtimes, and housework.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry, and emptying commodes.
  • Providing companionship to prevent loneliness through engaging conversations, activities, and outings.
  • Managing medication by collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and assisting with administration as per care plan guidelines.
  • Preparing nutritious meals considering dietary requirements and preferences, and assisting with feeding when necessary.
  • Helping clients with mobility, including transfers, walking support, and using mobility aids.
  • Observing and reporting changes in the client's physical or mental condition to healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Encouraging participation in community activities and maintaining connections with family and friends.
  • Providing emotional support to clients experiencing anxiety, loneliness, or distress.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided, incidents, and any changes in the client's condition.
  • Ensuring a safe living environment and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Collaborating effectively with other care team members, healthcare professionals, and family members.

Qualifications

  • No social care experience is necessary; we value your compassion and communication skills.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
