Your Role as a Senior Care Assistant

As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our service, supporting residents and guiding our care team. You’ll help individuals live independently, take part in community life, and enjoy meaningful days.

  • Support residents with personal care (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting, feeding)
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice
  • Administer medication safely (with training)
  • Supervise and mentor care assistants on shift
  • Allocate duties fairly and ensure high standards of care
  • Support training and development of new team members
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals

Health & Safety

  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and escalating concerns promptly
  • Respond to emergencies and safeguarding issues appropriately
  • Ensure infection control and health & safety standards are always maintained

Qualifications

  • Experience in social care (extra care or housing scheme setting highly valued)
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or currently working towards it)
  • Genuine compassion and respect for others
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisation skills
  • The right to work in the UK
