Our client, a global name in heavy-duty mobile equipment, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of exciting, technically challenging projects and contribute to the full product development lifecycle.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, integration, and testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, delivering robust engineering solutions across a range of innovative equipment and machinery.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems for heavy-duty mobile equipment.
- Use 3D CAD tools (ideally Siemens Solid Edge, NX, or Teamcenter) to produce and revise part and assembly models, drawings, and hydraulic schematics.
- Support or lead cross-functional design efforts involving hydraulic, electrical, and software systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and support teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery of new designs and modifications.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation activities to meet performance and safety requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and user manuals.
- Assist with on-site troubleshooting, testing, and production support as required.
- Help estimate project timelines, costs, and resource needs, while monitoring progress to ensure targets are met.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally within heavy machinery, mobile equipment, or a related industry. Proficient in 3D CAD software; Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. Ability to work independently and take ownership of design projects from concept through to completion. Hands-on approach to problem-solving with experience supporting production and testing environments. Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
