Citizens Advice South Warwickshire is an innovative community‑based organisation focused on meeting the needs of the people we serve across the South Warwickshire area, including the towns of Warwick, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa and Stratford‑upon‑Avon and surrounding villages. We’ve demonstrated excellence across our advice channels through the National Citizens Advice yearly inspection process and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS). In 2024‑25 we delivered advice and advocacy to 8,682 clients and advised on 39,361 issues.

The role involves providing casework advice to clients who would otherwise find it difficult to access help. You’ll work across a range of issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, energy, income maximisation and health services.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering a casework advice service to clients who would otherwise find it difficult to access help to address the difficulties they are experiencing in areas such as welfare benefits, debt, housing, energy, income maximisation and health services;
  • Interviewing and supporting clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills so they can explain their problems and set their own priorities;
  • Dealing with a complexity of issues and simplifying information for the client;
  • Identifying emergency advice issues and providing advice on how to move forward with those issues; providing advocacy advice, support and assistance as circumstances and needs require;
  • Maintaining detailed case records to support continuity, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation;
  • Taking ownership of monitoring all elements of own workload with minimal supervision, including proactive management of referrals, progress on current cases, outcomes of completed cases and quality control;
  • Working with colleagues to maintain a positive working and learning environment that promotes equality, diversity and dignity at work;
  • Collaborating with other organisations and teams to develop effective working relationships and provide a holistic approach.
