What you’ll do
- Assess clients’ debts, income, expenditure and support needs.
- Advise on budgeting, income maximisation, debt options and their implications.
- Provide casework, negotiate with third parties and respond to urgent situations.
- Refer clients to specialist services where appropriate and maintain accurate records.
- Complete required accreditation and ongoing professional training.
What you’ll bring
- Clear written and verbal communication, good numeracy and confident IT skills.
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work independently and collaboratively.
- A sensitive, inclusive and non-judgemental approach, with strong confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Commitment to training and to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice.
Knowledge of debt advice is desirable but not essential.
A DBS check is required; a criminal record does not automatically prevent employment.
