About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract to 31st December 2027, with the potential to become permanent, subject to the availability of ongoing funding and business requirements.

As an Employment Support Worker, you’ll work directly with people aged 16-25, providing one-to-one and group support to help them overcome barriers and take positive steps towards their future.

You’ll get to know each person you support, understand their goals and aspirations, and provide tailored support to help them move towards education, training, volunteering or employment.

No two days will be the same. You’ll support individuals with areas such as:

Responsibilities

  • Building confidence, independence and employability skills
  • CV writing, job searching and interview preparation
  • Understanding workplace expectations and developing work-ready skills
  • Exploring education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities
  • Providing financial literacy support, including benefit checks and budgeting
  • Connecting individuals with specialist services where additional support is needed
  • Providing ongoing support, including longer-term support once someone moves into work
  • Building relationships with employers, training providers and partner organisations
  • Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate casework records
  • Safeguarding those you support and ensuring they receive safe, person-centred support

This is a role where your support can make a real difference. You’ll help individuals recognise their strengths, overcome challenges and take positive steps towards a future that works for them.

You don’t need to have worked in exactly the same role before. What’s important is that you can build positive relationships, provide person-centred support, communicate effectively and genuinely want to help the people you support achieve their goals.

If you’re looking for a role where you can use your skills to make a meaningful difference across Sandwell and Walsall, we’d love to hear from you.
