Leeds Citizens Advice & Law Centre helps over 30,000 people a year with welfare benefits, debt, housing, energy issues, and more. We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our dedicated team of advice professionals.
We are looking to expand our casework team with specialists in housing. As a Housing Caseworker, you will work closely with the Housing Solicitor and Money Advice Team in particular, advising clients on a range of housing issues, including homelessness, possession and eviction, disrepair, and renters’ rights. An understanding of eligibility and scope for legal aid would be an advantage. This role is also open to applicants interested in a trainee position. This would suit an experienced generalist adviser or caseworker looking to specialise in housing. All applicants should be organised, with the ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to listen, engage and empathise with vulnerable clients.
