Another Star is looking for a solid hotel maintenance engineer who can help us change its maintenance organization from reactive to preventive.
A proactive mindset combined with curiosity and a sociable personality are important elements for this role.
As a hotel maintenance engineer, you are responsible for day‑to‑day maintenance of the hotel.
You will communicate with the hotel senior engineer, hotel manager, housekeeping department, (sub)contractors and the Another Star Support office.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure guests are happy by keeping rooms functional and undamaged.
- Inform the hotel team which rooms can and cannot be sold.
- Support the hotel team with technical tasks throughout the hotel.
- On‑call in case of emergencies.
- Manage and coordinate 3rd‑party subcontractors for preventative maintenance.
- Act as the first point of contact for building installation issues.
- Responsible for hotel safety, including executing water risk and fire risk assessments.
- Keep everyone informed by updating the status to the hotel team and in the supporting software.
Qualifications / Skills
- Skilled, all‑round technical assistant with basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Able to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of computer software (email, Excel, Word) and interest in learning new programs.
- Good level of communication and writing in English.
- Eager to learn and develop yourself.
- Flexible, not bound to a 9 to 5 mentality; challenges arise at unexpected times.
- Proactive and enthusiastic.
- Team player, willing to collaborate with the citizen M Glasgow hotel staff and Another Star’s Support Office.
- Passionate about the work you do.
