Cititec are currently supporting a Tier 1 general contractor delivering a large scale hyperscale data centre project in the UK. They are looking to bring on an experienced MEP Project Manager on a freelance basis to support a technically demanding, fast paced programme.
This is a senior level role suited to someone who can operate with a high degree of autonomy from day one.
The Role
- Lead MEP delivery across a large scale data centre project, managing the full mechanical and electrical package from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
- You will be working closely with the main contractor, design teams, specialist subcontractors and the end client to ensure delivery is on programme, on budget and to the required quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of MEP package delivery across mechanical, electrical and public health systems.
- Management of specialist subcontractors including HV, LV, UPS, generators, cooling and BMS.
- Coordination of design and construction interfaces to maintain IFC compliance throughout.
- Overseeing factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and commissioning activities.
- Managing RFIs, technical submittals, O&M documentation and handover deliverables.
- Chairing MEP progress and coordination meetings across the project team.
- Reporting into the Project Director on programme, risk, quality and commercial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with data centre specific standards including Tier classification requirements and uptime protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering MEP packages on hyperscale or large scale mission critical data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of data centre systems including HV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generation, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water and BMS.
- Previous senior project management experience with a Tier 1 contractor or specialist MEP subcontractor.
- Solid working knowledge of UK construction processes and NEC contract environments.
- Experience managing full commissioning programmes through to handover.
