Business Analyst – Physical Oil | Greenfield ETRM Transformation | Up to £875/day inside IR35
I’m working with a leading global commodities trading firm looking for a Business Analyst with strong physical oil experience to join a major greenfield ETRM transformation programme.
This is an opportunity to help shape a new platform, influence position reporting design and improve front-to-back workflows across physical oil trading.
Key responsibilities:
Work with trading, operations, scheduling, middle office and technology teams to define business requirements.
Help design and develop position reporting for physical oil trading activities.
Define reporting requirements covering trades, inventory, movements, exposures and operational positions.
Analyse physical oil workflows across trade capture, nominations, scheduling, logistics, storage and settlements.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development teams.
Investigate reporting discrepancies, data quality issues and reconciliation breaks.
Support testing, implementation and delivery of new platform functionality.
Experience required:
Strong hands-on experience with physical oil trading, covering crude oil and/or refined products.
Previous Business Analyst experience within commodities trading or trading technology.
Experience with an E/CTRM platform is essential; experience with any ETRM or CTRM system is relevant.
Understanding of physical oil positions, inventory movements, trade lifecycle and position reporting.
Experience gathering requirements, documenting processes and working with technology teams to deliver solutions.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
